Hunting Lodge
While hunting with Hunters Paradise guests are encouraged to stay at the Hunting Lodge located on the large South Island Ranch on which we hunt. This may be considered by some as a wilderness hunting lodge located two hours drive inland from Christchurch on the banks of the Rangitata River.
The Rangitata River was the setting of “Battle of Pelennor” in Academy Award Winning film “Lord of Rings”. The movie has opened the window to the world of the picturesque wilderness scenery that will be your backdrop while relaxing in the hunting lodge.
Guests will be treated to wholesome home cooked country cuisine and award winning New Zealand Wines. Enjoy meals that are unique to New Zealand including venison dishes and pavlova desert.
Your hosts Craig and Jan have lived farmed and hunted the area for several years and open their home up to visitors in a farm stay style arrangement. Craig has guided for several seasons and has a personal knowledge of what the travelling sportsmen and women and their companions want and expect while on their New Zealand vacation. Together they make a great time and we're confident you will enjoy their company.
Non-hunting companions can relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquility the Southern Alps offer by lounging around the lodge or enjoy a snippet of rural New Zealand farm life by “tagging along” with Craig and Jan has they go about their farming business. Trips to near by towns, cities and tourist attractions can be arranged. For me information please view our “Other Activities Page” for ideas.
