Lake Whakamarino

Also known as the Tuai Lake has delighted many local anglers for relinquishing healthy trophy fish in the double figure category (10lbs ). The lake has a healthy population of liberated and wild stock yielding trout with an average weight of between 2 to 2 ½ kilograms (4 ½ to 5 ½ lbs). Fly-fishing from the lake shoreline or anchored boat during the evening rise has the best results.
Lake Whakamarino is restricted to fly-fishing only and the use of motorized boats is prohibited. Offering visiting angler's alternative options to the main lake of Waikaremoana when weather conditions are less favorable.
