EDITORIAL DECISIONS TO BE MADE: WDANZ HANDBOOK

Making jargon words consistent re capitalisation and hyphenation:

  • SPAM, Spam, spam
  • I think “Spam”
  • I think “Email”
  • E-Zine, ezine, e-zine

I think “Ezine”

E-Commerce, ecommerce, e-commerce

I think “Ecommerce”

E-Books, ebooks, e-books

I think “Ebooks”

Web vs web

I think “Web” in most use as a noun but “web based thingie” would be fine as an adjective (I think…?)

Search Engines vs search engines

I think “Search Engines”

Not-For-Profit, not-for-profit

I think “Not for Profit” (just to be different :-)

Subtitles to be in sentence case, not title case?

Sure,

Deciding on spelling conventions:

English vs American spelling, eg. Program vs programme

Definitely American

Deciding on abbreviation conventions:

SME vs Small business/small or medium enterprise (ie does a butcher know he's an SME?)

NFP

I think use “small business” rather than SME

Overall issues:

No footnotes throughout

Titles and subtitles - to be confirmed and changed in both TOC and in files themselves

Mention somewhere that all prices/costs are in NZD
